We're doing the Rolex Fastnet Race!

We are proud to announce the sponsorship of top French sailor Benoit Parnaudeau in the Rolex Fastnet Race. This is an important step in the Portugal Ocean Race Promo Tour. The Rolex Fastnet Race is one of the most important offshore sailing events in the world. With over 300 boats taking the start line, 20 of which are Class 40's, this is a fantastic opportunity and a great place to promote the Portugal Ocean Race and meet other Class 40 sailors.

Benoit's Parnaudeau's Class 40 yacht 'Nacira' has been rebranded and is now called 'Portugal Ocean Race' for the Rolex Fastnet Race.

Having qualified as a team on the fast trip from La Rochelle to Southampton during the past week, the crew have been enjoying the atmosphere and buzz of this formidable event.

Portugal Ocean Race co-founder Ricardo Diniz is also a part of this team;
"I am so happy and proud to be sailing with Benoit and his team. We had a great time on the sail to the UK and are really looking forward to racing hard. I have known Benoit for over 10 years and it's really special to now be sailing together. Many sailors have noticed our sexy Class 40, fully branded with Portugal Ocean Race sponsors, and have shown much interest in our event. It's funny to see how many still remember the race as "The Portimão". I wish all the teams a fast and safe race. May we all meet again in Plymouth in a few days time!"

Benoit Parnaudeau is equally excited about this partnership;
"We have a great team and sponsor, all very relaxed and happy to be at sea. I have seen over the years how hard Ricardo Diniz and Brian Hancock have worked to build the Portugal Ocean Race, so it is a special situation to now be working with them and sponsored by this great race for the Class 40's."
